History of Statue of Liberty

French people gifted this monument to residents of the United States. It is named on the name of the Roman goddess Liberty and body of a sculpture is of her. French sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi is designer of the statue of liberty and Alexandre Gustave Eiffel (who is well-known for making Eiffel Tower) built it.
The statue was made in Franch and then shipped to America where entire statue resembled using pedestal. There was such agreement that USA people were to develop pedestal and French people were to make a statue. Richard Morris is an Architect who designed granite pedestal.
The USA was facing money shortage problem for developing their historical monument at that time. No one wanted to donate money. So, Joseph Pulitzer launched a campaign of fundraising to sort out a problem of money. It is a welcoming door for anyone who wants to enter into America.
